What is Equine Assisted Therapy

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, or EAP, is one of the most effective forms of experiential therapies. Why Horses

Horses have the power to influence people in all kind of powerful ways.

Horses are social animals, they have defined roles within their herd. Horses have their own personalities, moods and attitudes, this seems at times that they are defiant and stubborn.

Horses are sensitive to non-verbal  communication which gives  them a reaction to whatever message the client gives them at the moment. The horses give a vast opportunity for metaphoric learning

Do I need to have riding experience

No. EAP is not about riding or horsemanship. The only requirements is that you dress appropriately for working with the horses in the barn, pasture or arena. Shoes that cover your toes are essential
